I was recently asked to join the 'Mad About Scrappin' Creative Team and I am very please to say I accepted with a huge smile :D I've loved their flowers for quite some time now and love using them in my projects. Mad About Scrappin is an Australian based online scrapbooking store that sells quality supplies.
My first projects are for Valentines, I've made a lovely origami box using 'Sassyscrappers' tutorial on youtube. It was very easy to follow and with all the beautiful flowers, lace and papers from Mad About Scrappin how could it not turn out great.
I've used the Trelis Roses, Cosmos Daisies, Lillies and leaves together with some delicate lace, ribbon and a little bling. The paper I've used is the 'Hello Friend' Collection by Glitz Design which is also available from the store.
With a little gesso added to the larger flowers and on the base I then sprinkled some glitter to add that special touch.
The little bag was also made using the same products with the addition of some Seam Binding, Cherry Blossom flower and a dangle for glamour!!
I hope you've enjoyed seeing my very first projects as an official Creative Team member and you can see them in more detail on my youtube channel shortly.

Grow Your Blog - Blog Hop & Giveaway!!
This Giveaway is now Closed!! Thank you to everyone that entered :)
I'm pretty excited to be a part of the 'Grow Your Blog' blog hop that is hosted by '2 Bags Full' and even more excited to find some new blogs to follow and enjoy! There's just something about reading beautiful blogs that I enjoy much more than watching a video, although I enjoy that too, reading and pouring over gorgeous photos is very relaxing and something I usually do once everyone has gone to bed.
I started crafting in about July 2012 and have really been enjoying myself, over the years I've dabbled in different things such as sewing and scrapbooking but never really called myself a crafter but I now know that deep down I always was!! From my love of sketching when I was young to the mere fact that I loved to help my children with all their 'assignments' at school should have told me that :) I like to share my projects on youtube and am having a lot of fun trying new things.
For this blog hop I thought it would be nice to offer my visitors a piece of my 'work' in the form of a wall hanging. I'm only new to this style of work, in fact this is my first wall hanging and if you would like to see it in more detail please watch the video I made which I will link below.

As this is my first blog hop of this type I may be adding to this post in the next day or so, mainly because I'm not sure exactly what to do (I'm hoping there will be a list of blogs to visit or something :)).
Please feel free to leave me a comment if you would like to win this wall hanging, you do not have to have a blog to enter, just leave me a comment. I will randomly pick the winner and announce it on 1st February.
Ok so if you'd like to see the hanging up close and personal you can watch this :)
Thank you so much for visiting my blog, I will try to visit your's (if you have one) over the next few days.
Have a lovely day
Jeanette xx

Altered Cotton Reels/Spools and TP Rolls
Just a few little projects I've been working on, the cotton reels/spools are for a Challenge over at Your Paper Pantry. We were to make an altered spool with a hanger and tassels or dangles, this is what I came up with and I'm really pleased with the look of it, so pleased in fact I'll make more for my Christmas tree this year :)
I put together a cute little bag for it's packaging which was really simple to make, just take a rectangle of paper, overlap and stick the long ends together with double sided tape, place double sided tape (or glue) on the inside central third bottom edge and press down (do not crease the sides) this is the bottom of the bag. This leaves you with an opening at the top which you then bring together in the opposite direction to the bottom. Then take a paper doiley (or similar) and fold over the opening, punch out two small holes and tie with ribbon, lace or twine.
Hope that was easy enough to follow :)
The next little creation was for a challenge on 'Itripledogdareu's' youtube channel, we are to use a toilet roll and alter it into a little treat holder. I do recommend spraying out your roll with some alcohol before you start on it just to kill any germs etc (peace of mind, lol) The holder was to be any style you wished with only the requirement of it being 'romantically' themed. I decided to attach the top of an organza bag to mine so that I could fill it with some goodies and post it without everything falling out :) Hope you like it

Flowers and an altered notepad
So this is what I've been up to in the past week, making a few easy flowers and altering a simple notepad :)
I love the simple look of them and the light colours are perfect for the hot weather we are having right now, I feel the need to have more clean colours around me when the heat is on. I used some lovely velveteen type fabric which I've fallen in love with now.
I've also made my very first 'Lace Collage' wall hanging, I've been admiring many of these over the past couple of months from a few different blogs but mainly 'Suzyqusthreadworks', she makes the most beautiful works of art (that's what they are) and inspired me to try my own. Of course mine is nowhere near the calibre of Suzy's work but I'm still very happy with my first attempt. I would love to try one using coloured/dyed laces and doilies too. The image I used in the Collage was from 'thefeatherednest' blog which is also another inspirational blog.
I will be having a Giveaway on the 19th Janauary for this wall hanging so if it's something you like please pop back then and enter :)

A Change of Name and Pocket Organiser
When I first started this blog I wasn't sure exactly what I would be doing but I find myself crafting along with scrapbooking so I thought I would change the title of my blog to 'Crafting Happy' as I do feel Scrapbooking is a form of crafting. I would also like to incorporate more 'homely' posts on occasion too, just to mix things up a little :)
I love to visit other blogs, there are so many talented ladies and gents out there and occasionally I'll come across something I not only want to try but am capable of doing so when I was drooling over 'Cottage-Dreams.blogspot recently I couldn't help myself but try one of the pocket organisers that I saw there :)
It was quite a lot of work as everything is sewn, 90% handsewn and I haven't really sewn very much in years but it was well worth the effort, I'm really pleased with how it turned out!
Here is a video showcasing the organiser.
